I have a test which redirects you to a different website (in a popup ) on button click. is there a way i can switch to this popup window to perform some tests ?
Now TestCafe can run a test in a single page only. If on the original site the button click leads to opening a new page in a popup browser window, testcafe should just redirect to that page in the same window during test running.
Meanwhile we've planned to add ability to perfom testing in multiple browser windows (See https://github.com/DevExpress/testcafe/issues/912).
is there an estimate on when this feature will become available?
This feature is not in our current sprint. I can't provide you with exact estimates but I suppose we will add it to one of the next sprints. Meanwhile you can vote for the feature by adding your to the appropriate issue.
Would you have any suggestions on how we can workaround this problem since majority of our tests rely on switching to pop ups
TestCafe should open a new page in the same window where the test is run. In this case you leave the previous page but the test continues on the new page. Does it work for your case?
It dosnt quite work because our scenario requires us to go back to that first page. so m able to "switch to popup" because it replaces the content in the same window. but when i want to get back to the first page i cannot do that. any suggestions?
Unfortunately, I don't see any workaround here. The "Add ability to perform testing in multiple browser windows" feature should be implemented to handle this case.
Thank you for responding so quickly and we appreciate all the help :). Is there a way we can help provide some kind of contribution towards this feature?
